What's happening around the Chill mountains?

Are you excited? We’re excited! The snow keeps coming.

All the mountain crews are working hard to keep the roads and fields clear and make the most of the remaining ski days.

Here’s a round up of what’s happening around the Chill Mountains.

Rainbow recieved more snow over the week - great spring skiing.




Mt Lyford - has an excellent snow cover and a promising weather forecast for their last weekend of the season. Their last day will be this Sunday 24th of September, so better get up there.





Hanmer Springs  had a great season and closed 3rd of September.





Cheeseman - has a lot of snow up there. They set their closing day to Sunday the 1st of October and changed the opening hours a bit:

Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 - OPEN
Thursday 28  to Sunday 1 - OPEN

Lift Hours on operational days are:

Weekdays (Thursdays & Fridays) 9:00am 4:00pm
Weekends (Saturdays & Sundays) 9:00am - 4:30pm



Broken River - lots of snow up there!




Craigieburn Valley - will celebrate the Lodge closing with a Beach Party this Saturday. Put on your loudest beachy party shirt and have drink on a great season.

Temple Basin
- had a great season and will pack up after this weekend (Closing day 24th September). Naturally not without a proper celebration: Formal weekend - End of Season Party




Mt Olympus has a lot of snow up there. Accommodation available through October 7th. Whoohoo!




Fox Peak - what a great season up there.




Mt Dobson has the Dobson Dash coming up on the 24th of September.
Closing day will be 8th October. They still got some new snow this week.





Awakino -
closing day Sunday 24th of September.

Treble Cone
looks like some beautiful spring skiing up there.
Closing day is Sunday the 1st of October. Celebrations start on 31st with a Family Fun Closing Day and continue on Sunday 1st October with the official Closing Day festivities.




- Oktoberfest is coming up on Sunday 24th September. A true Porters tradition! Strap on your Lederhosen, German frock and head on up for some fun in the sun, gourmet German food and beer and great German tunes. Happening at the Porters' cafe from 12pm so plan your lunch around being there!

Closing Day will be the 8th of October.
